| Honeysuckle Cottage gets a new thatch
- 15th
September 2006
Back
to Picture Galleries Index Thatchers have been busy in Great Eversden High Street working on Honeysuckle Cottage. The ancient art of thatching thrives in East Anglia. Very often, it is a family business, as is the case here with Brian Mizon, Master Thatcher, and his son, Tom. Several generations of Mizons have been thatchers. Honeysuckle Cottage was last thatched, probably, in the seventies. The beautiful straw colour will soon weather to grey - but this roof will keep the cottage warm and dry for many years. For interesting information about
straw-work and thatching and about the Mizons family, visit
